Divja Žena (Wild Woman) was not born in a laboratory. She was born by the sea.
It all started with a problem—my sensitive skin and the realization that there was no sunscreen on the store shelves that truly helped me. Every time I exposed myself to the sun, rashes and itching would appear. For a long time, I believed I was allergic to the sun, but the truth lay elsewhere: the problem wasn't the sun, but the chemistry, fillers, and preservatives in the creams.
As a fashion designer, I am used to creating with materials that breathe and respect the body. I transferred this principle into the kitchen. I started with simple plant-based balms, and my skin finally found relief in the sun.
Forgotten wisdom
The real turning point happened when my mom, an eternal explorer of natural beauty, rediscovered beef tallow. This is an ingredient that our ancestors valued for centuries before the emergence of modern cosmetics. Mom started making a nourishing facial balm for herself—she impressed everyone around her, and before summer, she gave a jar of beef tallow to me as well.
From it, I created two balms. The result was incredible: completely free of rashes, without irritation. Only soft, glowing, and naturally tanned skin. And then the balm even convinced Davor—the biggest skeptic, who "doesn't believe in creams." That’s when we realized we had something special!
More than just cosmetics
That day on the beach, surrounded by the scent of synthetic perfumes in creams, as we watched the greasy slicks of chemical filters lingering on the sea's surface—that was the moment the decision was made. This balm had to go out into the world.
Not just because it works, but because it respects. It respects your skin and it respects the environment. It proves that the best solutions are not new chemical inventions, but the forgotten wisdom of our ancestors.
The name DIVJA ŽENA (Wild Woman) does not have accidental roots. It originates from Slovenian myths and fables—like Bela žena, Žalik žena, and Krivopetnica—the Wild Woman. She is an archetype of power, a memory of our roots, and an invitation to return to nature.
Today, all three of us (Mom, Davor, and I) create skincare with a clear guiding principle: fewer ingredients, more meaning. Without the unnecessary. Pure, effective, and honest.
